IFLAG SETUP GUIDE
✔ A quick guide on setting up your ReaperWare iFlag(s).
✔ Follow the below instructions for a quick and easy setup.
IMPORTANT NOTE! Please do not upload a sketch using the Arduino Hardware setup tool to your iFlag. You do not need to do this. Your iFlag is already configured and does not require you to create or upload a sketch. Replacing the already installed sketch will cause the device to stop functioning.
GETTING STARTED WITH YOUR IFLAG(S)
To use your ReaperWare iFlag, you must already have SimHub downloaded and installed.
Although not required, We recommend you purchase a license for SimHub as it's truly an amazing piece of software.
FIRST - CONNECTING YOUR IFLAG
Connect your iFlag
Connect the Device
Plug your iFlag into any available USB port. You will hear the standard Windows USB connection chime.
Open SimHub
Launch SimHub and select the Arduino tab from the left-hand menu panel, then navigate to My Hardware tab at the top of the screen.
Allow Time to Sync
Wait a few seconds for detection. Initial synchronization typically takes around 5 seconds, but it can take up to 30 seconds if you are using a new USB port or adding a new device.
VERIFYING CONNECTION IN SIMHUB
Verify connection
Verify Status
The scanning status should change from a red "Not Connected" message to a green "Connected" message, and your device name will appear on screen.
Troubleshooting Tips
- Port Compatibility: The device is fully compatible with both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports.
- Connection Issues: If the status continues to display "Not Connected," wait an additional 30 seconds or try plugging the device into a different USB port.
- Multiple Arduino Devices: If you have more than one Arduino based device or iFlag's connected, ensure you have Multiple Arduinos selected in the My Hardware tab.
DOWNLOAD AND EXTRACT LED PROFILE
SimHub LED Proflile
Download the Profiles
Download the required ReaperWare iFlag profiles.
Extract the Files
Navigate to your computer's Downloads folder and extract the contents of the compressed file.
Navigate to RGB Matrix Settings
Open SimHub, select the Arduino tab from the left-hand menu, and then click the RGB Matrix tab located at the top of the screen.
IMPORTING PROFILE INTO SIMHUB
Almost there
Import the Profile
Click on Profiles Manager, select Import, and choose the specific iFlag LED profile you need. There will be a profile for a single iFlag, and another for a dual iFlag setup.
Activate the Layout
Once imported, remember to select and load your new profile from the dropdown menu and apply the changes.
Ensure that all of this is done under the RGB Matrix tab and NOT the RGB LEDs tab.
Your iFlag(s) should activate and show an idle animation when correctly setup.
configuring dual iflags
Dual iFlag setup
If you are running a pair of iFlags and want them to display independently of each other, you must take an additional step. In SimHub, navigate to the Hardware tab and click the arrow or dropdown next to the last iFlag in the list. Expand the options and change the RGB Matrix content setting from 1 to 2. Your iFlags should now function properly as a pair, and the spotter ability will work as expected.
Ensure you have the 'iFlag x2' profile selected under the RGB Matrix tab.
If you find that your left side flag is displaying the right side effects and vice-versa, just switch the RGB Matrix content values around, rather than physically switching your iFlags around.
You can run and add as many iFlags as you like.
