Introducing BYO 'Build Your Own' by ReaperWare

'Build Your Own' by ReaperWare is a service and range of products that enables anyone to design and build their own button box, dashboard or input device.
No matter if it be for racing, flight, space or truck sim. We can provide everything you need to turn your vision into reality.
It doesn't matter if you have no software or programming experience, no knowledge of SimHub or Arduino IDE is required, you don't even require soldering skills.
You can purchase as little and do as little as you like, or we can provide a full finished product for you that only needs to be plugged into a USB port!

So how does ReaperWare BYO work?

Choose your BYO PCB module

We have a range of base BYO PCB Modules available, all varying in size with each differing with the types and number of inputs available.

Choose the BYO PCB module that would best suit your needs and requirements.

Need more inputs? add a PCB Expansion!

Each BYO PCB Module can then be expanded upon with various expansion PCB's, connected to the main PCB Module via FFC's (Flexible Flat Cables). FFC's are an industry standard, many of you would have already seen such cables in many different electronic devices. The use of FFC's allow flexibility with the physical mounting of expansion PCB's relative to the main PCB Module.

Every PCB has been designed to be fully modular meaning you can add a row of toggle switches, a bunch of buttons, extra rotary encoders or funky switch and it will just work without any modification, extra programming or sketch reuploads to the main BYO PCB Module.

✔️Every BYO PCB Module has it's own micro-controller and USB input connection.
✔️No additional hardware is required.
✔️All PCB Modules are provided pre-programmed. They will appear in Windows as USB game controllers. Completely plug and play with no drivers or additional software required.
✔️BYO PCB Modules has surge protection, EMI filtering and anti-ghosting diodes.
✔️PWM LED control is available on every PCB module.
✔️Additional pads connected to the micro-controllers unused pins are exposed allowing end users to add and configure extra functionality. Adding an RGB Matrix or RGB LED strip for example.
✔️Sketches will be freely available to download for users who wish to modify their PCB Modules.

The very same buttons, switches and encoders used in our ReaperWare products are available for you to purchase for your own builds.

ReaperWare buttons are of metal construction and have a definitive tactile feel over plastic parts that are used by other brands.

We pride ourselves on prioritising and selecting nothing but the best quality parts for the best possible user experience, and now you can build your own device with the very same, carefully chosen and tested components!

After selecting your BYO PCB's and hardware you should be all good to go!

But what if you can't solder?

We also have that covered too!

For a small fee we can fully assemble, solder and panelise your order. Complete with rigorous testing and quality checks.

We have a range of different panel footprints to choose from. We can panelise your PCB Module and Expansion together on a single panel or separately.

Each panel is machine cut from the same beautiful frosted matte cast acrylic Perspex as we use in the rest of our products. Each panel will be edge polished and finished to perfection.

We will provide mounting hardware so you can easily attach panels to your own enclosure, dashboard or rig etc.

From here all that is required is to plug in a USB cable and map your controls in your favourite sim. It literally could not be easier!
